How do you research Houston rentals that use a point system?

I've heard that there are some complexes in the Houston area that use a point system. This was how it was described to me:

"if you have bad credit but your rent history and job history are up to par and you don't have a criminal record, the complex will be willing to let you lease."

how do i find places like this online when I don't live in the Houston area yet?

I've never heard of this, but I'm sure something similar is being used. (I haven't rented since 1999.) Just the other day I heard a news report on radio that discussed credit rating in regard to apartment leases. It had to do with another topic, though (real estate, and purchasing apartment properties as investments in a down economy).

Why don't you find a property you like and ask them?
