There is no one individual to blame. Football is a team game.

First of all, the running game was errant all year. Steve Slaton started the year as one of the league's more underrated running backs. He developed fumblitis and was benched for Brown, and eventually Moats. With the passing game as prolific as it is, a running game would've given the Texans a new dimension, and undoubtedly a better record.

Then there's the defense. On paper, the group is very good. DeMeco Ryans, Mario Williams, Brian Cushing and many others. Despite all the individual talent on this group, they were inconsistent on the defensive side of the ball, particularly against the pass. The Colts game comes to mind...a 17 point lead blown.

Eventually though they got their acts together and finished the year with the first winning record in team history. Unfortunately, had they executed better earlier, their destinies would've been completely up to them.

Well it could be Kris Brown.... but honestly Id blame the Colts. If the Colts dont bench their starters against the Jets then the Jets probably dont come back and win. Jets got the easy win and stayed in the playoff hunt with that win. If the Jets lost that game then the Texans controlled their own destiny. If that was the case though then they probably would have lost to the Patriots lol.

It was the 17 point lead that they blew to Indianapolis.

I think your point is the WHO is to blame for the Texans missing the playoffs is actually a lot of people. I agree Kris Brown and the running game failures did us the most damage. It also did not help that the Colts and Bengals decided the season was over at 14 games.

1,000,000,000,000% Kris Brown. He lost us maybe 3 games due to his crappy kicking. If he would of made just ONE of those kicks with the game on the line, we would be in the playoffs instead of the jets. So basically Kris Brown needs to go. Kubiack is a great coach.
