Houston commuter rail system, What do you think?

I heard about commuter rail system in yesterday news. It looks TXDOT officials are heading to DC to get some money to fund the project which can come to life in 3-5 years. It will connect 290 corridor and Downtown to Galveston. Do you know more about it? Is it really possible to get commuter rail system in Houston?

Houston surely needs a commuter rail system atleast in those 2 corridors especially 290 one. It will surely help avoid the jam pack traffic and also help our environment by reducing carbon monoxide. It is both cost effective to the consumer and helpful towards our green society. I know its easily said than done. THey been talking about it all the years but nothing happened. Hopefully Obama administration which is supporting green transportation might lend the money to show green signal for this project.

Lets hope for the best.
