Are there any deadly diseases transmitted by mosquitos in Houston?

I just want to know if there are any diseases that have been reported to be mosquito born in the Houston area. I just want to be informed.

West Nile virus is finding its way around the continent but if you are healthy you can get west nile get sick get well and then be immune. Hurray.

No big deal.

While you did not ask; no HIV cannot be transmitted by the mosquito. The mosquito does not put blood into you, it puts saliva and the saliva belongs to the mosquito and mosquitos do not get HIV.

West Nile.

Dengue would be within the realm of possibility, but there are no reports of it.

Not really except for the Deadly Houston Yellow Mosquito Disease but everyone knows about that and already got their shots last summer.
